Every TGH squad voice channel requires a working mic and adult tone. The first ricochet rant gets the channel cleared — not a 'warning system.'
Adult-default culture
Most members are 25–55. Working jobs, paying mortgages, allergic to teenage rage. The vibe self-selects.
Squad before queue
You form the squad in Discord first, then you queue together. The toxic random isn't on your team because there's no random on your team.
Why public lobbies got worse, not better
Crossplay opened the floodgates. Voice moderation at the publisher level is mostly cosmetic. SBMM rotates you through wildly mismatched groups. The platforms have given up on solving lobby toxicity directly because the fix would slow queues. The only fix left is community-side: pre-form your squad outside the game.
What 'mic-gated' actually means here
When you join a TGH voice channel, the expectation is: working mic, talk like an adult, no slurs, no rage at randoms in your stack, no streamed music. That's it. We don't have a 50-page rules PDF. People who can't follow a one-line standard get bounced. Quietly. Without drama.
What you actually trade for it
Slightly slower 'first-game' time. You spend 3–5 minutes finding a stack instead of pressing Quick Match. In exchange, you don't spend the next 2 hours wishing you hadn't.
How TGH enforces it (so you don't have to)
Officers in voice. Every channel has someone responsible. No mods needed for 95% of nights — the culture is self-policing because everyone's there for the same reason. The other 5% gets handled fast and quietly.
Common questions
Is this a 'wholesome only' Discord with thought-policing?
No. People swear, talk smack, joke. The line is 'are you cool to play with' — and the people there set it, not a rulebook.
What about disagreements between members?
Adult conversations get had. Drama gets shut down. We don't host long-running beefs.
Are kids banned?
We don't ID-check, but the culture skews 25+ and the channels reflect that. Kids self-select out fast.
