Sailing a galleon silently is just three people bailing in confusion. Everyone here is on comms.

Heaviest 7pm–1am EST, with weekend sessions that run long. Weekend Hourglass pushes are common.
Why open crew and the big servers do not work
Open crew is a lottery — you get a griefer, a silent player, or someone who leaves the moment a skeleton ship spawns. The huge Sea of Thieves Discords are the other extreme: tens of thousands of members and a #lfg channel moving so fast that your post scrolls away before anyone reads it. Neither produces a crew you sail with again.
What a TGH Sea of Thieves night looks like
Someone posts in the Sea of Thieves channel — "brig, Athena run, need 2" — and people hop into voice. Roles get sorted out loud instead of by accident: who is on helm, who is on cannons, who is boarding. Loot gets sold as a crew and split as a crew. If a reaper chases you across two servers, that is the story everyone retells the next week.
What we actually run
Tall Tales for people who have not finished them, Athena and Reaper voyages for gold, Hourglass PvP when the crew wants a fight, Fort of the Damned and world event chasing, and the occasional alliance server night. Seasonal content gets a push when a new season lands.
Who is here
Adults, mostly 25–45, with a few hours a couple of nights a week. A mix of veterans with maxed factions and newer pirates still learning to raise anchor. Nobody gets mocked for a fumbled sail — being useless on comms is the only thing that does not fit here.
Common questions
Is this the official Sea of Thieves Discord?
No — TGH is an independent community Discord that runs Sea of Thieves crews alongside other games. The official Rare server is best for news; this is where you find a crew that talks.
Do I need a mic?
Yes. Crewing a ship without comms is the main reason Sea of Thieves sessions fall apart. Lurking in voice on your first voyage is fine.
Am I too new to join?
No. Plenty of members are still working through Tall Tales and faction levels. Say where you are at and someone will crew with you.
Do you do PvP or PvE?
Both. Hourglass and Reaper fights happen when people want them; plenty of nights are pure PvE voyages and Tall Tales.
Is it free?
Yes. The Discord and crews are free. Paid memberships are optional extras unrelated to finding a crew.
