Best Co-op Tactical Shooters
PvP is great, but co-op is where coordination is most rewarded — because the AI doesn't care about your KD; it punishes anyone breaking the plan. These are the co-op picks that actually reward squad-level play.
AI that punishes cowboys
These games beat solo heroes. Coordinate or wipe.
Designed around small squads
Most are 4-player. Some scale to 8. Sweet spot for a TGH stack.
Mic'd lobbies always available
We run nightly comms-required lobbies for each of these. Lurk first if you want, mic before you get drafted to 1-man.
The picks
Ready or Not — CQB co-op masterclass. Solo fails; mic'd 4-stacks shine.
Helldivers 2 — Surprise tactical pick. Stratagem callouts and bounding are mandatory at higher difficulties.
GTFO — The hardest co-op tactical shooter on the market. Stealth, scarce ammo, real planning. Not for casual nights.
Zero Hour — Tighter and faster than Ready or Not. Good entry to CQB co-op.
Ground Branch (co-op) — The fireteam-on-AI experience. Smaller community, very high quality.
Arma Reforger Combat Ops — Open-world co-op patrol problems. Scales to 8+ easily.
Why co-op rewards comms more than PvP
PvP forgives bad comms because skilled aim can paper over indecision. PvE doesn't — the AI exploits any gap in your formation, any wasted second, any unsuppressed angle. Half the value of TGH co-op nights is forcing the comms habits that you'll then carry back into PvP.
