Ready or Not: Stack-Up Tactics for Co-op SWAT
Ready or Not punishes sloppy room entries. Mirror-gun, stack-up calls, and team movement — here's how a real SWAT co-op squad clears a building.
Ready or Not is the SWAT tactical co-op that rewards real stack-up discipline more than any other game on the market. Sloppy entries get teammates killed. Coordinated entries make you feel like you're actually clearing a building.
Here's how a real Ready or Not squad runs an op.

Why Ready or Not Demands Discipline
Most co-op shooters let you Rambo a room and survive. Ready or Not does not. AI civilians, suspects with realistic TTK, and a scoring system that punishes excessive force mean that running into a room with the trigger pulled gets you a failed mission and a dead teammate.
The game is designed around the real LE/SWAT room-clearing protocols. Learn them, and the game becomes one of the most satisfying co-op experiences in years.
The Stack-Up Pattern
Before every door:
1. Stack — four players against the wall, in order. 2. Mirror — number one slides the mirror gun under the door for intel. 3. Call — 'two suspects, left corner, civilian on the right.' 4. Decide — flash, sting, gas, or cold entry. 5. Breach — door open, entries fan in pre-assigned directions.
Do this every door. Yes, every door. The 30 seconds you spend stacking saves you a mission restart.
Tools: Mirror, Flashes, Breach Charges
Ready or Not gives you real tools — use them:
— Mirror gun — intel before entry. Always. — Flashbang — cooks 1.5 seconds, throw + count + enter. — Sting grenade — non-lethal disorient, better for civilian-heavy rooms. — C2 charge — for locked or barricaded doors. — Lockpick — silent option for surprise entries.
The squads that ignore tools and just rush get wiped on the third door, every time.
Roles and Chain of Command
Four-man SWAT stack roles:
— Element leader — calls breaches, tool selection, room priorities. — Pointman — first through the door, primary suppression. — Cover (#2) — opposite corner from pointman. — Rear security — watches behind the stack, no one walks up on you.
Assign roles before the mission. Rotate weekly so everyone learns every position.
Find a Ready or Not Squad
Ready or Not is best with the same 3 people every week — coordinated stack-ups only work when you've practiced together. The TGH Ready or Not lane runs weekly co-op nights in the Operator Path.

FAQ: Ready or Not Co-op
Is Ready or Not good with random matchmaking? Tolerable, not great. The game shines with a consistent 4-stack.
How long is a typical mission? 15-45 minutes depending on the map and how methodical your squad is.
Do I need a tactical background? No. Most TGH members learned the stack-ups by playing — patience matters more than experience.
