Crossplay Squad Guide: PC, Xbox & PlayStation Together

Setting up a crossplay squad is harder than it should be. Here's a step-by-step guide for every major tactical shooter.

Crossplay has made gaming with friends on different platforms possible — but setting it up is still confusing in most games. Here's a plain-English guide for getting your PC, Xbox, and PlayStation friends into the same lobby.

Warzone / Call of Duty

Everyone needs an Activision account linked to their platform. Add each other through Activision IDs (not gamertags). Enable crossplay in settings — it's on by default for most modes. Party up through the in-game social menu using Activision friends.

Apex Legends

Apex uses EA accounts for cross-platform play. Everyone needs to link their EA account, then add each other as EA friends. Invite through the in-game friends list. Note: crossplay lobbies default to the highest input type — if a PC player is in the party, everyone plays in PC lobbies.

Helldivers 2

PC and PlayStation can play together through the in-game friend code system. Share your code from the social menu, add each other, and invite directly. No third-party account needed — it just works. Xbox is not currently supported.

Valorant & R6 Siege

Valorant is PC-only with console versions in beta. R6 Siege has crossplay within console families (Xbox ↔ Xbox, PS ↔ PS) but not PC ↔ console. Check each game's current crossplay status before planning your squad.

Pro Tip: Use Discord for Comms

In-game voice chat across platforms is often buggy. Use Discord instead — it works on PC, mobile, Xbox (via app), and PlayStation (via app or link). Set up a voice channel, have everyone join, and you'll have cleaner comms than any in-game system.
